Reguarding SKU : DFR0026
The PT550 datasheet has the light detection range going into infrared range. Will this product detect infrared light?

Welcome to the forum 
It looks like that light sensor will pick up part of the infrared range but with less response than for visible light. This is pretty common for optical sensors as most consumer cameras will get as much visible light response as possible and inevitably will become somewhat sensitive to the top part of the infrared band. Most smartphone cameras can detect the infrared light emitted from a TV remote for example.
