I have two picos each of which has a piicodev servo driver and an rfid module. The Picos connect to the RPi using mqtt. how do I set the asw switches on the modules to deal with the 4 devices. What happens if I add subsequent Picos and modules?

In not 100% sure on what needs to know what in your project.
If you have two picos, then I will assume all devices on each bus will need unique addresses, but each pico can replicate/duplicate the other.
i.e. Addr/ASW
Pico 1 : 00 01 10 11
Pico 2 : 00 01 10 11

At a Pico to module, as long as each device has a unique address it should be fine.
so if all modules have the same base address and 2 switch’s, then 4 modules per pico.

What I dont know is does the MQTT server/RPi need ALL address to be unique ?
I would assume you could have a Pico01/Dev00 Pico02/Dev01 etc

Key point there may be some central reason I am missing that may affect what it can support.

Assuming I am correct, once you get past 4 on the modules, you can get “address changers” where it will change to a very different address allowing you to have more of the same models on each chain.
