Very interesting problem! I’d also take a look at [this forum topic for some ideas](https://forum.core-electronics.com.au/t/project-by-michael-kipad-a-custom-macro-keypad-for-kicad/9524/3) 😃 Given you are working from all sides rather than one there’s a chance it would be harder but worth a look into!
