First paragraph is duplicated:

> The digital pins of a microcontroller are only capable of supplying a few milliamps of current at 3 to 5 volts, so if we wish to control higher-power components (that might require a few Amps of current at much higher voltages) we will need to use something like a transistor.

Writing tip: look for opportunities to replace ‘that’ with other words - ‘which’ would work better here, and if speaking of people, _always_ go with ‘who’ (or even ‘whom’ if you can be bothered remembering the rules for when it applies… on the other hand you look a right putz if you mistakenly deploy it, so I consider it deprecated).

Cheers for the spot Kimmo, this was my very first guide I wrote working here so its a bit rough in places 😁. Gone through and fixed it!

Hello hello @Jaryd , I just wanted to thank you. I even took the time to create an account so I could leave you a message; that’s how helpful your tutorial was. It was absolutely crucial in guiding me through my first electronics projects.
Cheers from Belgium!

As a general rule of thumb, yes!
