Hi,

How can I connect this module with an ESP32 to have extra 4 channels of 18 bit?

The MCP3424 is an I2C device, and the ESP32 has an I2C bus. Refer to the documentation for the sensor for specific programming requirements.

Hi .I wish to install a pi4 8 into my guitar so I am able to record directly from the 2 Piezo preamps. I have used a pi4 with an external usb sound capture device successfully previously and now wish to use a top hat if possible but am unable to find advice on the matter through the usual channels… any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Hi @Mark284837
Cool Beans.
Some quick questions so I can recommend some sensible hardware.

  1. what quality are you expecting from you recording? Studio quality or just something fun and weird?
  2. What kind of budget are you looking at?
  3. Does this thing need to be battery powered or are you comfortable with you pi4 into the wall whenever you need to record?

A drawing of what you imagining would be super helpful.

Hi @Mark284837,

Welcome to the forum! This is an interesting project. @Pixmusix has some great questions to start there and I have just a couple more.

  • Where and how are you planning on mounting the Pi?
  • Why a Pi 4 over a Pi Zero, etc?

This may also be a great post to follow as its own topic if you’d like to post your responses there and @ Pix and I.
