I have got a rpi 5 and have somehow shorted the 3.3v and ground gpio pins
Is this fixable?
Hi Mani
Without a schematic and expertise in trouble shooting and working with surface mount components I doubt it.
When you factor in labour costs it would probably be more viable to replace the Pi5
Cheers Bob
Yeah ok, thanks
Hi @Mani243975 and welcome to the forum,
Unfortunately, Bob is right.
Buying a new one is probably the quickest, easiest, and simplest way of getting it resolved.
But if you really want the challenge, it can be fun to try.
You’ll most likely still have a broken Pi by the end, but you will have learnt a lot about the Pi 5 and electronics in general in the process of trying to fix it.
