Any help welcome fo a newbie.
I have A Rasberry Pi 7" Touch screen with POE Hat to be put together.
Questions

1. What or how do I configure the risers supplied with my purchase or do I require different risers to connect both sides of the riser? (see image)
2. How do I attached the supplied cable jumpers to the PIN if the POW Hat is sitting on top of the pins?
Do I need different jumper cables?

Hey Anthony,

Happy to help, in this case, you’ll need to use some M2.5 standoffs that match the dimensions of the originals, and also have a bolt attached to the bottom that you can put straight into the thread of the standoffs below. What you’ll need is a 9mm high standoff that has a bolt running through the bottom of it (M2.5) similar to the ones that I’ve attached below (unfortunately, all of the standoffs that we supply at Core are too large, but there should be plenty available from around the globe).

(You’ll need these, but another 2mm shorter)

If there’s anything else that we can do for you please let us know! (I also tested the standoffs with some GPIO extensions, but the issue is that we also require access to the 4 pins behind the USB port for the HAT to function)

Great what about the jumpers that are blocked by the POE Hat. Is there a different type of jumper that will suit this application?

Hey Anthony,

Ah yes, the quickest way that I can think of to solve that is to solder to the pins from the bottom directly (of course I totally understand if that’s not an option for this project). Although, we may have found a workaround. If you use the 2x3 GPIO riser with a normal 2x20 riser, you should be able to get enough clearance to use the 16mm high standoffs or use a cobble or enough space to add a similar board in between to breakout the GPIO so you can use the PoE hat alongside the display. All the best with your project!
