I am attempting to seal a 1cm diameter hose to the 12V solenoid valve from core electronics link: [https://core-electronics.com.au/plastic-water-solenoid-valve-12v-1-2-nominal.html](https://core-electronics.com.au/plastic-water-solenoid-valve-12v-1-2-nominal.html)
The setup is shown below:

To ensure no water leakage i would like to use a strong sealant (link: [https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-80g-all-clear-multipurpose-sealant\_p1230113](https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-80g-all-clear-multipurpose-sealant_p1230113)) however; it says on the package that the sealant might damage poly carbonate and polystyrene. Will this be an issue of concern for the plastic valve as I am not aware of what material it is made from.
Thank you very much.

Hi Rama,

I’m not sure what type of plastic thos valves are made from. It doesn’t look like polystyrene, but polycarbonate comes in many varieties. I think it is most likely that its PVC. My best suggestion is to try a small amount of the sealant on a non critical part of the valve and see what happens.

I hope that helps! Let us know what you work out!
