If connected to a 5v source such as the LM3596S would this be suitable to power the Waveshare 7” lcd WS27078? If not, can you recommend anything?

Hi Noel,

Welcome to the forum!!

It should be fine, the power path management on the Waveshare Display

is all passive, so injecting 5V into the Vbus side shouldn’t be a problem.

What kind of application are you using this for? I’m keen to hear more about your project :smiley:
