Course I know what a GIF file is. Just never thought of a picture.
Seems that no one worries about being able to start a brushed motor slowly from standstill. But sometimes it is essential. I first came up against this back in early Picaxe days (pre Arduino) where a guy in Melbourne wanted to motorise a telescope focus control. He also wanted to have a potentiometer control with centre OFF and direction control depending on which way the pot was turned. That bit was not difficult but the very slow start was somewhat harder. Direction change by DPDT relay was the answer. I have normally done this and noted over the years if a slow start is required the direction change is always done with a relay.

Wow, that sounds like a fun project!
Curious: was that motorised front and back movement to focus or circular like in DSLRs. I suspect front and back but don’t wanna assume.

Hi Prithul
Don’t know. I just got feedback that the whole thing worked. The Telescope was in Melbourne.
