Hi,
I am looking to solve for the monitoring of Nitrogen in my vegetable garden. Namely the tomato plants. Which are struggling at the moment. Feedback from the local nursery is the soils Nitrogen might be low.

Being an IoT enthusiast. I’d like to set up some type of soil sensor/s and monitor with Microsoft Azure. Or some other cloud service if there are recommendations.

Has anyone set up IoT sensors to monitor soil conditions? If so looking for some guidance on where to start.

Hi Cheezzer,

While you can easily monitor soil moisture, there is no device to easily measure nitrogen levels in soil.

I looked into this recently, while there is a device that can measure PH in water which might be usable monitoring your soil, it requires constant calibration and cannot be left submerged.
