Raspberry Pi 4 - Interface Board To Sense External Relay Change Of State

Hi - I am new to Raspberry Pi. I have an external relay with isolated (from 240V) contacts for which I need to detect a change of state (NO < - > NC) & then take specific actions from the Pi. Can someone suggest how this is best achieved on a Raspberry Pi 4 please ?

I suspect it means I need a 4-ch Optocoupler Input Module or similar.

Hi Phil

What is that going to do. It will not tell you what the relay in question is doing.
Do you have a spare set of contacts that can be utilised for indication? That would make it easier.

A schematic showing what you are switching and how you are doing it would be a great help.
All we have at the moment is
