Raspberry Pi Battery Powered HDMI Downscaler?

I want to use the new Raspberry Pi or something akin, but I need some way to accept an HDMI in.

The goal is to have an HDMI 1080p in and a 720p out, on a battery operated device.

What do you think guys? Is it possible?
