Could I use this to read my water meter? The camera would have to be about 1.5m above the meter (due to various restritcitions) and it is in a dark cabinet.

Welcome back!

In principle, it could work since the camera has a “meter reading” mode. However, at 1.5 m inside a dark cabinet, you’ll probably struggle with resolution and lighting for reliable readings. If you can position the camera closer, around 30–60 cm, and add some light inside the cabinet, it should give much better results.
