Stackable Raspberry Pi Pico dev system

Hi Rob

Not for Arduino I don’t think. That “stuff up” as you put it made a situation where if you wanted a blank shield to build something to plug directly onto an Arduino you had to purchase one of their shields as they seem to have made the same “stuff up” with those.

Makes one think it may have been deliberate.

Hey Rob,

Speaking of, we stock these slim headers: https://core-electronics.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=slim%20header

Hopefully a bit cheaper than commonly available

+1 for the soldered modules for this application.

Did I mention mission creep?

I looked at my first proposed use for this (off grid solar system monitoring) and realised that I will need more than four dockable functions and the previous design only had four docks.

Yes you can stack the boards to get more docks but for one more function that’s bulky and more expensive when an extra dock (or three) would be really cheap.

So it now has 6 normal docks and a 7th wired as a 26-way header to be used for a front panel (or whatever) mounted remotely in an enclosure.

Hi Jeff,

Lookin very sweeet.

If you’re keen for front panels would an IDC cable work?

They are the same from the original Pis so you’ll likely find some cheaper than this around the net as well.

Yeah 26-way is a very common size. I haven’t looked at prices but it’s easy to make your own and probably cheaper to buy a roll of cable and a few connectors.

Maybe not though these days, when the time comes I’ll research that.
