Switch 5V with GPIO

wanting to switch the 5V supply voltage to a RockBLOCK [9603] with a adafruit feather M0 digital output. the aim is conserving power, only need to transmit data seldomly. any ideas?

Hi David,

The simplest way would be to power the RockBLOCK via a MOSFET controlled by the feather. The RockBLOCK 9603 has a sleep mode that is enabled by pulling a pin to ground. This would be an easy option as well, and perhaps better than removing power altogether.

Would you happen to have a diagram and recommended MOSFET?
