Hello,

I’m looking for an Christmas present for my son who is 14yo.

I’m looking at the 3pi+ Robot kit.

Would this be suitable for his age?

Would I need anything else to make it work apart from the batteries?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the forum!

I think this would be a great gift. There is both a building and coding aspect to it so it would be a great project to work through.

I can see there is soldering required so you will need an iron, a stand, and some solder. You will also need a usb c cable to program it.

I can’t think of anything else you will need except some wrapping paper for this one!

There is the possibility if he wants to learn to code he can learn to do it. There is also a GitHub repository with example code you can use as is or as a reference.
