Adafruit Sensirion SHT45 Precision Temperature & Humidity Sensor - STEMMA QT / Qwiic (ADA5665)

This is a placeholder topic for “Adafruit Sensirion SHT45 Precision Temperature & Humidity Sensor - STEMMA QT / Qwiic” comments.

Sensirion Temperature/Humidity sensors are some of the finest & highest-accuracy devices you can get. And finally, we have some that have a true I2C…

Good morning all,
can you guys help me with getting the Sparkfun DEV-16832 OpenLog Artemis datalogger to identify the Adafruit SHT45, address is found 0x44 but not the device.
“Known I2C address but device failed identification at address 0x44”
I have the SHT45 and the TMP117 on I2C to an Uno and it records fine. When l swap it over to only the datalogger it will find the TMP117 but not the SHT45, l have tried another SHT45 on its own and still no result.

Hi @Tony260047, Welcome to the Forums!!!

Unfortunately, I think the problem is that the OpenLog Artemis doesn’t currently support the SHT45. Having a look through the supported sensors it isn’t one of the listed sensors.
I also can’t see much information on configuring your own sensors in the documentation either.

Is the error occurring in the Configure Attached Devices menu?

Thank you so much Aaron for taking a look at this issue; l was hoping that maybe the SHT45 might slip in under the cover of the AHT20 or SHTC3 as both of these sensors are Humidity/Temperature, but No. I did try to see if there was a way of configuring it through the device menu, but there was no scope in that section for expanding into H/T sensors. I think there maybe a firmware up date that might be worth taking a look at as welI. Anyway l will continue playing around with it until it beats me, it gives up and let’s me in or l smoke it.
Thank you once again Aaron
Cheers for now
Tony.

Hi @Tony260047,

No Worries, Firmware update may be the best way forward. You could try reporting an issue to the Firmware GitHub as an enhancement. They may be able to add it in a new firmware version.

Good morning Aaron,
I will have a crack at tackling the GitHub for some assistance, but l feel it might be a thing for the next generation of logger.
Very kind of you to help.
