Anyone aware of a circuit to drop 120VAC (or 240VAC) down to a voltage level that could be input to an ADC pin for analysis?
Thanks,
Curt

Hi Curt
A transformer would be easiest (and safest). I don’t think an ADC would handle AC voltages which swing positive and negative so would have to be rectified. This would probably mask anything you would like to “analyse” like phase shift and the related thing called Power Factor.
just what are you wanting to “analyse” anyway. There would be commercial devices that measure all sorts of things mains power related.

Your response reminded me of a device (amazon) I have my refrigerator plugged into. When it detects bad power it shuts off until good power is restored for at least 30 seconds.
I can plug my Pico into this device and have the startup script to do the power outage recovery tasks. Brownouts are the biggest problem, they often don’t shut down an appliance but leave it in a non-working state that can be fixed with a full shutdown.
Thanks,
Curt
