Has anyone wired a CAT6 jack directly to a mega board without the shield?

I did a bit of digging around and found this forum post over on the Arduino site: https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=108488.0
It looks like the main factor for them to get it working was using a shielded cable.

Hey,
That’s excellent, I’m not sure whether that CAT6 needs to go to another board which provides the appropriate power to the pins, however, as long as the specs match the ratings of the Mega you should be good to go! Nice solution!
