CEO 7271 model XL4015 step down converter

Hi guys, I have this item purchased from yourselves. I see that the maximum current from this is 5 amps.
I am using it with a servo motor from a 12v battery to a 7v output. The problem is it is not moving a servo. I think the most likely cause is the current adjustment knob may be restricting the current output. I should have gotten a unit without the current adjustment as I see these are available.
Is there a way to tell what the current adjustment knob is set to? I guess the maximum setting would be 5 amps. How do I get this? Do I rotate clockwise or anticlockwise until I come to a stop on the rotation?
I am using an Arduino nano board for programming. Thanks.

The current adjustment on the DC-DC Adjustable Step-down Module 5A 75W (SKU: CE07271) only sets an upper limit, it doesn’t force 5 A into the servo. The servo only draws the current it needs, provided the converter, battery and wiring can supply it.

Could you tell us a little bit more about the servo you’re using you’re here, especially if you can tell us its exact model or give us a datasheet. I would want to check its voltage and stall current.

Also check that:

  • Nano GND, converter OUT− and servo ground are connected together.
  • The servo is powered directly from the converter, not through the Nano.
  • The converter remains near 7 V while movement is commanded.

If the voltage collapses under load, that would point towards current limiting, inadequate input power/wiring, or the servo demanding more than the converter can supply.
