Hakko Red Alternate Tips

Wondering if anyone knows if the basic Hakko Red iron will work with any alternative tips? About to do some SMD soldering, so the standard conical tip is a bit much.

TIA for any direction!

I have not checked but I would think the Hakko irons have an assortment of different tips available.

Just had a look and did not realise this iron is 240VAC so maybe no other tips.
I think this is the wrong iron for your task. I think you would be better with a temperature controlled iron which will have an assortment of tips available for different uses. However these don’t usually come cheap. Especially Hakko. If you only have a couple of items to solder you may be able to borrow a “proper” iron more suited to your purpose.

Thanks, I do have a Pinecil on the way with alternative tips, however it’s been stuck in Shenzhen for over a week now :frowning:

I have done some SMD soldering with this already (some WS2182B LEDS) however it wasn’t a particularly pretty job.

Only a week!!!
On past performance from Shenzhen you can probably look forward to another 3 or 4 weeks yet.
Personally I will not purchase anything from there. The Chinese mailing system sucks.
