How unusual, I’m not sure what we can do to try and fix this problem, if you’ve got any more error messages that might help too. I’ll let my colleagues Oliver and Owen know about this and see what he thinks we can try, for now, you may be able to connect to the Pi by hosting an FTP server which you can use to pull the files to your new board, or you can use SCP on an SSH connection.
