I have a simple circuit I want to make.

I have a simple red/blue combination LED (>1cmx1.5x.5). 3 wires come from the unit.

I attach a 3v switched AAA battery holder to the wires, it either lights red, blue, or not at all.

I want to solder a circuit where a single switch swaps between either colour. I want to use either that battery holder or find a button cell holder. But that’s beside the question.

What kind of switch should I be asking for, and would our humble host have anything to suit.

I would suggest using a SPDT Switch you can find a wiring diagram below. Connecting your circuit from here should be simple.
