Linking a DS18B20 with a microbit (Type SEN-11050)

Hi all
Just wondering if this waterproof temperature sensor also requires a resistor to work properly. I am aware that some versions of the DS18B20 don’t need anything else apart fro the micro:bit as the impedence of the micro:bit circuit negates the need for another resistor.

Is this correct?

Would be great to hear from someone who has worked with these devices together. It would be great to just be able to hang this directly off the microbit without the need for any other parts and check water temperatures.

Hey Christopher,

I haven’t worked with the two together myself but to stay on the safe side it would be worth to include it.
The micro:bit does have an onboard pullup resistor which will protect the sensor : Set Pull
