Do you need to have to access The Things Network or IoT when using LoRaWAN and Gateways?
What if you have zero ability to connect to the Internet but want all the data from the Nodes sent?

Hi Donovan,
That’s an interesting proposition. You can use LoRa, which is the physical layer radio specification without the internet. Using LoraWAN will require the internet for the backhaul section of the network.
LoRa devices can be used for Peer to Peer communication as well, there is an example on the product page for our Makerverse LoRa-E5 module, but having that bidirection communication is quite tricky when compared to a standard LoRaWAN network.
I rewatched the Weather Station and thought, if on on a property why can’t u use the data that it’s pulling in. Surely there is a way to get the data without it being upload onto the Internet?
The primary reason for the idea, is I want to get the data off a Node that’s simply telling me if button A is pressed or Button B is and how long it was “activated” for before either the opposite button was pressed or say a timer stopped?
Once I figure that out I need to be able to get the exact same data from say upto 7 more of the units doing the same thing.
