Building a private LoRa (not LoRaWAN) modulated mesh network in Australia
a) What is the max duty cycle for a LoRa - assuming AU915 or AS923 Frequency Plans? I know in Europe there is a 1% maximum duty cycle - ie 864 seconds per day. Not sure if this applies in Australia.
b) Is maximum power allowed 1watt?
c) Is 433MHz @ 1w and 1% duty cycle another option?
This seems to the be the relevant (current) legislation - https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2019C00681

After some solid reading my conclusions are:
• 433MHz is not allow in Australia
For 915-928MHz in Australia;
• 1 watt maximum
• Digital modulation transmitters (*FSK, ASK, PSK, LoRa) - “must not exceed 25 mW per 3 kHz” - LoRa bandwidth is 125kHz default - so LoRa is fine
• Frequency hopping transmitters must use at least 20 hopping frequencies
• no duty cycle limits under the law…
