Pi Zero spotify music player

I want to make a pi-zero spotify music player. I have some old harmon kandon soundsticks with headphone jack input and I was going to try something like PiMusicBox for software.

For this, is the Raspberry Pi IQaudio Codec Zero the right product for audio output?

Can this simply be plugged into a Pi Zero W just as it is?

Thanks,
John

I don’t see why not, but check out Pimoronis Pirate Audio stuff. It sounds like exactly what you’re after.

Hi John,

That should be suitable, I can’t see how that wouldn’t be for that application.

Yes, it’s a HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) for the Pi Zero so it should just be easy as just throwing it onto your board and making sure that your scripts/programs interface with it correctly.

Please note that it’s currently on preorder, there’s a few other very similar HATs currently on shelf in the warehouse and ready to go.
