This shield allows you to use a computer power supply (or other power source) to use your Arduino to switch high current. With RFP30N06LE MOSFETS, you can easily control a lot of current directly from your Arduino.

Be aware, if you plan to use this with the TIAN, DO NOT INSTALL THE BLOCKING DIODE. The diode connects the 12VDC rail to the board Vin rail. On the TIAN the Vin rail is not connected to a voltage regulator but rather directly to a 5VDC rail. Installing this diode will smoke components on your board. i have learnt a very expensive lesson :frowning:

Ah no Paul, sorry that you had that happen. At least other people will be aware now. I wouldn’t have thought that to be an issue across different Arduino boards, but it just goes to show you always need to check.
