I want to develop a discreet security system that can:
- Scan authorized personnel using both facial recognition and ID verification (specifically for professional/HSE safety officers)
- Detect unauthorized individuals attempting to access restricted areas (like electrical substations)
- Automatically flag intruders with immediate emergency email alerts containing images to supervisors
- Operate stealthily without obvious installation that might be manipulated
This project is critically important for preventing fatal accidents in dangerous facilities, inspired by a tragic incident in Oman where an unauthorized person died after entering a substation.

A very quick side comment: While you should have no real issues, just keep in mind that there may be some legal issues/challenges. i.e. Filming/Tracking of people. 99% of the time you just need to post a sign at the point of entry that you will be doing so.
e.g. “By entering this facility you may be filmed and tracked for security reasons”.
Then if they enter, its deemed they accept that condition of entry.
e.g.

GPS Legislation (Australia) - linxio.com)%20possession%20of%20that%20object.
Im not a legal person, so please do your own homework and confirm you are ok to do what you need.

Hi JamalAyinde,
As Michael said.
For anything safety or with legal implications it would be worth contacting an engineering consultancy.

I think you can go ahead with an ESP32-CAM.
