Is it possible to connect the Adafruit Mono 2.5W Class D Audio Amplifier - PAM8302 to a Raspberry Pi 5 through GPIO pins without using a USB sound card?

From what I can tell there isn’t a way to connect that board to the Pi directly.
If you were wanting to us the GPIO for audio, a I2S board such as this Adafruit one might be the way to go.
