Ohh ok so even if I attach to rx I need to still use my rs232 to tll converter

The baud rates etc are sane on arduino as the sending device parity, stop bot etc
Great news finally I have it working I have been working on this on and off for months
So now the rs232 data outputs as expected connecting it rx and vis the rs323 to tll adaptor

It’s been a bloody long haul and a hurdle for me to move my project toward poc
Re obd2 I can see my wanting to build my own messages to be recognised by an existing display that accepts data may be a bigger challenge so may either go down path of creating own display using obd2/can shield and display shied.
Anyway happy to keep you updated with progress if you would like as i walk the path to a poc that can be present for evaluation for commercial product potential development
