Setup raspberry pi5

Hi all,

Thinking of updating my Pi 4 since I have a single SSD which is type b (I think) and when I try and add an external usb ssd everything just hangs, it appears I don’t have the power.

I have a spare 2280 m type 1TB and a 512gb type b (I think)

(Hopefully pics will attach)

Looking for recommendations for bits and pieces to get a case, HAT if I can to get both drives on (one for boot and OS) the other for storage.

Primary uses will be

  1. Foundryvtt server running in nodes
  2. Home bridge for some automation stuff
  3. Plex to stream movies… hopefully from the 1TB drive**

Hey there, @Andy296789, and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here.

Based on the two SSD cards you have there, I doubt there’s going to be a HAT that will let you have both of them connected. One of those SSD is a SATA and the other is an NVMe. The NVMe can be connected via the typical M.2. HAT but for the SATA, you will need to connect it via a USB to SATA converter and maybe use it as backup.
