Just wanted to add a comment about this. The operating values in the description and the title are different - Title: 4.5-5.5V 38kHz, Description: 2.7 V to 5.5 V

If it was me I would believe the 4.5 - 5.5 V.
Having said that I just checked the Data sheet. Vishay say 2.5 - 5.5 so it looks like the error is opposite to what I thought it might be. So it looks like the description is correct.

Thanks for bringing this discrepancy to our attention.

Having a look at the datasheet it seems Bob is correct in saying the voltage range should be 2.5V to 5.5V.

The product page should be updated now to reflect this!
