Will these stepper drivers be ok for these stepper motors

I have purchased two of these driver boards.

And I have Sure Step stepper motors that are 2.0A

Not sure if these drivers will be suitable?

Hi Ciaran,

You should only drive stepper motors with a continuous voltage of 1.4Amps with this shield.

So with what you have described, these 2A motors will not drive at full potential with these drivers?

Ciaran,

It’s more damaging than than. If you connect a motor with a higher amp rating then it will damage the driver. The motor must be below 1.4A or the driver will overheat/burn.
