Wiring multiple li-po batteries together

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anybody has experience wiring multiple lipo batteries together.

  • Is it as simple as just connecting the two batteries in parallel?
  • Do i need both circuit protection PCBs (one on each battery)?
  • Do i need to consider more complex things like balancing the batteries etc?

Extra info:
I’m looking at combining the CE04378 type batteries together.

Hi Adrian,

You can connect two lipo batteries together, but they must be disconnected and charged separately, and charged to the same voltage when connected. You will still need voltage protection for each battery.

I discourage you from altering the batteries in any way. As it can lead to failure or a fire.
