Arduino and sensors

Hey does anyone know if the Sharp GP2Y0A21YK0F sensors are they compatible with the 3- Pin Female JST PH-STYLE cable and which connector housing works best with an arduino 2560 board?

Hi Steph,

Really sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this one. We’re down some staff so it’s been a very busy week!

Short answer, yes.

Sony switched to a JST-PH compatible connector in Q2 2018 on these sensors, the JCTC 12001W90-3P-HF. See https://global.sharp/products/device/lineup/data/pdf/datasheet/gp2y0a21yk_e.pdf and https://www.mouser.com/PCN/Sharp_Microelectronics_PCN_SHARP_20180403___Change_of_connector_for_distance_measuring_and_dust[1].pdf

The headers on the Arduino boards are compatible with Du-Pont style connectors. These are the style supplied by Pololu whcih go in these crimp housings:

I’d suggest grabbing one of these leads with pre crimped terminals:

Along with one of the distance sensors:

Thanks for your patience!

Oliver
