Arduino Uno R4 w/DFR0850 W5500 Shield

I’m having issues with the DFR0850 W5500 ethernet shield connecting to a Arduino Uno R4 board. I’m powering the Uno by either USB-C, or 12v socket, and while I get a single LED light on the DFR board there doesn’t seem to be any actual Ethernet connection? The two lights on the actual RJ45 socket always remain dead. I’ve trying flashing a test project, and also a diagnostic project to test for Ethernet connection and also for what pin it should be communicating through with no success.

I’m not sure where I’m going wrong, if I’m missing adding a particular library or where else I’m going wrong ?

Hey there, @Andrew307658, and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here.

That sounds pretty weird, I’m sure we will be able to solve it though.

Have you followed the steps on the DFR0850 wiki, particularly the section on Ethernet usage? It looks like you may need to flash the board before ethernet will function:
