I need to add audio and mic to a Rpi zero 2W running under battery. the small usb mic I think will work, I ordered but haven’t arrived yet. about the speakers, I need a really low power solution, I don’t need too much volume neither super good quality audio.

any ideas?, thanks!

Is it strickly speech or is it also music? I’m wondering what frequencies we can exclude.
For example, a piezo can be a speaker if you squint.

Hi Ricardo
If you just want a mic to make sounds from a speaker what is the RPi zero 2W doing? e; is it required.

Hey @Ricardo300544,

As Pixmusix pointed out, best to let us know what frequency range you require for your application and we can start looking for suitable speakers.

thank you all for your answers and comments.

it is just voice, the idea is to be able to give it voice commands and for the raspberry Pi to execute the command and tell me the results by voice

Hey @Ricardo300544,

You might want to check out this Adafruit I2S 3W Stereo Speaker Bonnet for the Pi, it gives you the flexibility to connect a variety of speakers.

thank you again!. well that is a solution, but a little expensive for the project. Is there a way to get a cheap 3.5mm work on it?.

cheers!

Hey @Ricardo300544,

You could try using this USB Audio Adapter along with a micro‑USB OTG adapter to connect it to the Pi Zero 2W. It looks like a good low‑cost option for your setup, though you might want to double‑check compatibility for your specific use case.

Hi Ricardo

This item

is expensive ???

I think by the time you muck around with exotic bits to get a 3.5mm jack and then plug an amplifier into that you might find that you will be up for a similar amount if not more

False economy methinks just to save a couple of bucks.

I understand that it is not much money, and if it were for me, I wouldn’t care, but the project has a budget, and with this device, we’re exceeding it.

thanks, I will check
