Read moreDoes this encoder have a threaded shaft and come with a mounting nut/washer? It’s not clear from the photos.
Hey @O251567, welcome to the forums!
This encoder has a D-shaped shaft for the knob to secure onto.
The package will include the plastic knob to fit onto the encoder shaft, the encoder and the board it is secured to, and a 10-pin header.
No mounting screws are included with this rotary encoder module.
Hope this helps!
Thanks Samuel. Most rotary encoders (that include a shaft) have a threaded section of housing so the encoder can be panel-mounted. None of the photos show the encoder with the knob removed, so it’s not clear if this one can be panel-mounted. Do you know if it can be?
Hey @O251567,
My apologies for the misunderstanding. This encoder does not have any threads on the housing for panel mounting.
The shaft section before the rotating D shaft is roughly 8mm long so you could mount this through a panel but it does not have any threads for securing it this way.
