EL Inverter - 12v (COM-10469)

This is a placeholder topic for “EL Inverter - 12v” comments.

EL inverters allow you to drive EL (electroluminescent) wires. This particular EL inverter accepts a 12 VDC wall adapter. The output is terminated with a JST PH connector, so it plugs directly into the input on the EL Escudo or EL Sequencer board. You can drive EL wires with them directly, but you may need to re-terminate them. There is also a small switch on the side which allows you to switch between ‘on’, ‘off’, and ‘blink’ settings.

I am making a sign using EL wire. I want a wall transformer and inverter that will supply 6m of standard EL wire. Which transformer and inverter do I need for easiest connection? (It may be less than 6m)

Hi @Mary297046

Welcome to the forum!

This specific EL Inverter has been retired, we stock 12V EL wire/tape inverter as a replacement that would be able to power between 6m and 12m of EL wire, it would be best to power it with 12V DC 2A Fixed 2.1mm Tip Appliance Plugpack. Female DC Barrel Jack Adapter (2.1mm) will make it easy to get connect the PSU to the inverter.
