Hi Core Electronics team, I see that the Google Coral USB Accelerator, SKU: DEV-15317 is discontinued. I am running BlueIris CCTV NVR and wonder what else can give me the facial and numberplate GPU power I expected from the Coral?

Hi Carl,

Regretfully, the only other thing that comes to mind is a GPU-based solution, so perhaps a Jetson Nano or full-size NVIDIA GPU. Jetsons are in our domain (maker electronics), but they’ve been hit hard by the silicon shortage so we haven’t seen stock for about a year at the time of writing.

Perhaps checking with the BlueIris devs/docs as to whether a full-size GPU can be used instead of the Coral? That’d be the only thing I’d say you’d have a chance of getting a hold of while the shortage rages on.

Hi Carl,

Welcome to the forum!!

I’ve had great success with the Oak-D Lite running models directly from the camera as well as input video streams - it took a bit of trial and error to get it working but the onboard VPU is great for running models.

There’s a ton of features packed in for other applications as well!
