AS3935 Lightening detector with Piicodev adapter on RPi

Hi everybody
I have a RPi with a PiicoDev adapter attached and I want to connect a Gravity AS3935 lightening detector.
Does anybody have an idiot-proof guide to the modifications I need to make to the wiring in order to get this working?

I have what I “think” is correct, and the pwr LED is on. I gues that only means that I have the +ve and -ve connections correct ,though.
Also, if anybody has a python script example to be able to read data from the AS3935, that would be very much appreciated, too.

Hey @Neil276011, Welcome to the Forums!!!

PiicoDev uses the I2C communication protocol which the Gravity AS3935 lightning detector also uses.

This means you can use something like this adapter or this prototyping cable to fire it to the included wire harness for the Lighting Detector.

If you can share a picture of what wiring you already have we may be able to help see if there is an issue somewhere.

The Product Wiki has an example for wiring and code for this board that may be best for testing it out.

If you’re still having trouble with that, let us know what errors you’re running into and we may be able to help there as well
