As the ATTEN ST-862D is retired from the site, I’ve been looking at Aliexpress - unfortunately without luck - to find an Aus 230V version. Does anyone know if the 110V US or 220V EU version will do the trick?
Thanks

Hey @Elliott277489, welcome to the forums!

I would opt for the 220V EU version and look into a step-down transformer to get the voltage in the right spot.

While a 220V device should have a large enough tolerance to allow it to run on Australian 230V I would lean on the side of caution.

‘European step-down transformers’ should be a decent starting point to find a device ready for this task.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick reply and advice, as the 1000W step-down transformers are pretty expensive (almost the same price as the station itself!) I might go with the US version and that way I can buy other appliances from the US in future which with the price difference may pay for itself eventually!

Hi Elliott
Might be worth a look. Don’t know how long at this price

That is an incredible price! Unfortunately I must have just missed it as it’s all sold out now :frowning: $25.92!!
Did you manage to snag one?

No. I have just seen it.
Element 14 have them for something a bit north of $300 or so (also up to $1k+) and there are other sources without resorting to China and all the unknowns that go with it. The about $300 are Multicomp which seem to be pretty popular with Element 14 these days. I have a Multicomp DMM which seems to be very good. And their published Specs seem to be honest and realistic without embellishment or optimistic numbers.

Great info, thanks! I’m now looking into the multicomp pro MP740784 EU - any idea if the EU or UK version is preferred for Aust mains power? Both are saying 230V ±10% 50Hz which should be all good and I am assuming it’s just a plug difference…

Hi Elliott
Looks like a good choice. You will have to change the plug but that is no big deal.
The one thing I like about Element 14 is that they provide a complete data sheet for most of their products which some other suppliers are reluctant to do.
I actually sometimes go to their web site specifically to find a data sheet for some product I am interested in.
