I am confused somewhat. needing to make a switch with battery and lights this is going inside a 3d printed item similar to the pic.
. Wanting multicolour not just red blue green. What parts do i need?? Or do we need arduino?

Hey Joanne,
Welcome to the Forums!
We will likely need a bit of clarification as to what you are after here. Are there any limitations on the size of the cavity you are installing this in? What do you mean by Multicolour? Do you need an RGB light that can be programmed to show different colours? Are there any other relevant details or restrictions on this that you can provide? Have you looked into the Lilypad Boards?
Anything helps, as the more we know, the more refined we can make suggestions.
Cheers,
Blayden
the space is 20mm wide and maybe 40 height. Yes wanting to make pink purple light green ect
Hey Joanne,
Awesome, our 4x4 Glowbit fits within that size, if you want to check out Our Guide for it.
If there is any more info you can share, I am sure we can help a heap more. Pictures or the ideas you have run with so far that may or may not work the way you want?
As with everything, we can’t help with what we don’t know, so if the Glowbit tile idea doesn’t work, we would appreciate a bit more insight into what you are after.
Cheers,
Blayden
You can try in two ways. Either you use a muticolor LED or use an RGB LED LED - RGB Clear Common Cathode - SparkFun Electronics . If you use a 2-pin multicolor LED, the LED color will change automatically in a predefined pattern. Those LEDs are usually used in Christmas trees. You do not need an Arduino. However, if you use an RGB LED, want to control the pattern, you will need an Arduino. I pulled the tea light i have apart to find there is no pcb board. Looks like a switch and a diode. but the diode has multi colours not just red blue green. where would i find the diode that has like this and the switch. Im not good at this trying to learn.
Hi Joanne
Those pics of the base of your lamp are so far out of focus it is very hard to ascertain what is what.
Does not look like there is very much at all in this device. But something has got to be controlling this thing.
Better pics might help.
Cheers Bob
Hi Joanne, and everyone!
Welcome to the forum!!
I’d imagine an LED like this is being used in the board listed: https://core-electronics.com.au/led-5mm-cycling-rgb-slow.html
The links Blayden sent through for GlowBit would allow for any pattern to be made and would be much btrighter and vibrant (Plus all of the tutorials are there any will guide you from start to finish).
