Looking for replacement CNC stepper Motor

Hi all, I have a dead INOTEC ME057AG110-1 REV C 12DC drive motor in my ASTRAL RBX robotic swimming pool cleaner. The Astral agents want well over $1,000 for a new replacement motor. I cannot find any specs on this motor, so am struggling to find an alternative.

There is on on Ebay in the USA, but they will not ship internationally.

Can anyone tell me if there is a repair facility in Australia that might be able to repair the motor?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jeff,

Bummer about the motor issue in your ASTRAL RBX robotic pool cleaner. It’s tricky when you can’t find specs for a specific part like the INOTEC ME057AG110-1 REV C 12DC drive motor. But don’t worry, we might have a few ideas to help you out!

Firstly, about finding a replacement: It’s often possible to find a compatible motor even without the exact specs. The key things you need to match are the physical dimensions, shaft size, and power ratings (voltage and current). If you can measure these on your existing motor, you might be able to find a close match. Check out local suppliers of CNC or robotic parts – they often have a range of stepper motors that might fit the bill.

As for repairs, there are a few specialist electronics repair shops in Australia that might take a look at your motor. It’s a bit of a long shot, but sometimes these places can work wonders. Just make sure to call ahead and check if they’re comfortable working with that type of motor.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the repair! Let us know how it goes. :hammer_and_wrench::robot:

Hi Cheese

Regarding power ratings. Bit hard when the motor is “dead”. But the winding resistance can give you an idea of stall current if you can get access. That is assuming a brushed motor.
Cheers Bob
Seems this is a stepper but winding continuity and resistance measurement would still help.

Thanks Cheesy,
That was good solid advice. I’ll see what I can work out.
I’ve reached out to a company in Victoria that repairs stepper motors and given them what details I have.
I just have to wait and see what they say.
