Hi, I am interested in purchasing 200+ Micro:bit v2 Go bundles. I need to know if the size of the v2 is the same as the original (physical size of the board). We have some pre-manufactured parts that we also work with that the Microbit needs to fit into.

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of this product to drive a Glowbit Rainbow (same order).

Can I safely power a micro:bit V2 with 5V through the battery connector?

The documentation at Power Supply suggests that power from the battery connector passes through the same onboard voltage regulator as the USB connection. From looking at the board schematics, I believe this is the case, but I’m not confident in my ability to read them. Could someone please confirm this?

Hi @Roman183476, Welcome to the Forums!!!

The Schematic suggests that it may be possible.

The USB and BAttery use the same VCOMBINED line to feed the regulator. The area that may cause issues is the VBAT FILT line. This line passes through some circuitry and it is measured by the MCU. If that isn’t capable of handling 5V then it wouldn’t work.

The official stance is the battery isn’t meant to exceed 3.6V.
