Is it possible to turn off the White LED while the sensor is not in use?

Yeah, unfortunately its not possible just through software though(strictly through the I2C connection), you’ll have to solder the headers onto the board and to switch the LED off pull that pin to ground.

Hi Jim and John,
It looks like the repo has the incorrect schematic on there: VEML6030 (whats up at the moment) vs VEML6040. The small FET or Transistor on the board lets you control it though.
