Hi - can you tell me what the 4.2V device maximum output current is please?

Having a look at the schematic for the board and the Datasheet for the XB6096I2S It looks like the overcurrent protection will trigger at around 0.95 amps.

I am trying to use this in a project and it outputs ~4.2v when plugged in as expected but then automatically switches to battery but on battery only outputs ~2v? Can someone pls help.

Welcome to the forum!

Generally speaking a LiPo battery under 3.2V will not function, being that you’re getting 2V out of the battery it would lead me to believe the battery itself has been over discharged, if you have a multimeter handy you can probe the power and ground pins to get an idea of what voltage it is currently.
