For precision temperature sensing, nothing beats a Platinum RTD. Resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) are temperature sensors that contain a resistor that changes…
Hi team
Do you know if this can be submerged? I will need to monitor/control temperature of canola oil up to around 60degC max so wondering if this is suitable for that?
Thanks
As @Rooppoor212784 said It probably isn’t.
I couldn’t find anything saying it had any IP rating at all.
Having said that, as far as I know, Canola Oil isn’t conductive so it should be fine.
The only issue I can see is this sensor does use resistance to measure temperature.
While Oil is a bad conductor it still has a measurable conductivity and could make the thermometer less accurate.
